Custom Wine Shipping Box Manufacturing
Custom wine shipping boxes go wrong when the bottle does not fit the insert, the facing paper cracks at the crease, or the magnet pulls loose in transit. We build around those failures. The process below is the same one we run for every custom project, from a single-bottle corrugated shipper to a rigid two-bottle gift box. You approve at each step, so nothing moves forward without your call.
Eight steps from brief to shipment
Online consultation
You tell us the bottle dimensions, quantity, and where the box will travel. We confirm what is realistic for your budget and protection needs, and you decide whether to proceed.
Design confirmation
We turn your reference design into a production file with exact dimensions and structure. You approve the layout, material choices, and print placement before any plate is made.
Plate making and proofing
We produce printing plates and a physical proof of your box. You check the proof against your bottle and sign off on colors, text, and structure.
Machine printing
Your approved design is printed on the facing paper. We match Pantone colors and hold density across the run; you approve the first printed sheet before we continue.
Machine lamination
The printed paper is laminated to greyboard, 1200 g minimum. You confirm the board thickness and lamination quality, especially at edges and corners.
Machine box making
The laminated sheets are die-cut, creased, and folded into box bodies. You check crease integrity and corner squareness on a pre-production sample.
Hand assembly
Inserts, magnets, ribbons, and handles are attached by hand where machines cannot reach. You approve the assembled box with your bottle inside, checking fit and closure.
Quality inspection and packing
We run the in-house checks: drop test, stacking load, vibration simulation. You receive photos or video of the checks, then we pack for air, sea, or express.
What to send us
- Box dimensions or a bottle sample
- Reference design or artwork
- Quantity you need
- Any special requirements: inserts, magnets, handles, print finish
Two sample types
A blank sample is the structure only, no print. You use it to check bottle fit, insert hold, and closure. A printed sample adds your artwork, so you see color and finish on the actual material. Blank samples catch structural problems early; printed samples catch visual ones. If your bottle is unusual, send it to us. We will build the sample around it and ship both types together when you need them fast.
Payment and shipping
We take T/T and PayPal. Shipping is by air, sea, or express, whichever fits your schedule and volume. You choose the method; we pack accordingly. For sea freight, boxes are palletized and wrapped to prevent moisture. For air or express, we use double-wall cartons with corner protection.
What makes a project run cleanly
The biggest delay is a design that looks good on screen but fails on the box. Dark colors like black, deep blue, and burgundy are the hardest to hold. We can match them, but you will see variation between batches if we do not control the ink. That is why we approve a first printed sheet and pull mid-run samples. If your brand uses one of those colors, send a physical swatch, not a screenshot. It saves a full round of proofing.
The second failure point is the insert. A bottle that moves even a few millimeters will rub the label or break the neck. We hold insert tolerance to plus or minus 1 mm and box body to plus or minus 2 mm. Every insert is checked with the actual bottle: shake for ten seconds, tilt to 45 degrees, invert. If it moves, we rebuild the insert. Do not skip sending your bottle sample. A dimension list is not enough when the shoulder curve matters.
Buyer questions
Can you match a specific Pantone color on my box?
Yes. We match Pantone colors in printing and hold them across the run. Dark colors like black, deep blue, and burgundy are the hardest to keep consistent, so we approve a first printed sheet and pull mid-run samples. If exact color matters, send a physical swatch. A digital file is not reliable for those shades.
How do I know my wine bottle will be safe in your box?
We test every custom structure with the actual bottle loaded. The box is dropped from 1.2 meters on six faces, stacked with 40 kg or more for 24 hours, and run through truck and sea vibration simulation. The insert must hold the bottle at four points with no movement. If it fails any check, we rework the insert before production.
What if I only need a few boxes for a trial run?
We can produce small quantities for testing. The same process applies, but plate making and proofing are a fixed cost, so the unit price is higher. A blank sample first is the cheapest way to verify the structure. Once you confirm it, a printed sample shows the final look. We do not skip steps, even for small runs.
