Board and paper standard

We build wine shipping boxes on greyboard at 1200 g minimum. For spirits, we recommend 1400 g. Facing paper starts at 157 g specialty or coated stock. We do not use recycled greyboard or high-moisture paper in these structures. That keeps corrugated shippers and rigid boxes from softening or losing shape when a carton is stacked, humid, or handled hard in a truck.

Insert and bottle fit checks

Inserts hold the bottle at four points. We do not let a neck or shoulder float unsupported. Before a design is approved, we run three movement checks on a loaded sample: shake for 10 seconds and expect no movement, tilt 45 degrees and expect no slide, invert and expect no release. If an insert fails any check, we rework the cavity before production.

Tolerances and colour control

Our control tolerance is plus or minus 1 mm on inserts and plus or minus 2 mm on the box body. For foldable boxes, creases must not crack, magnet position is held to plus or minus 1 mm, and corners sit at 90 degrees when erected. Colour follows Pantone matching with first-article approval and mid-run sampling. Black, deep blue, and burgundy are the hardest shades to hold across a run.

In-house pre-shipment checks

Our in-house checks simulate rough handling before cartons leave the factory. We run a 1.2 m six-face drop test with a bottle loaded. Stacking applies a top load of 40 kg or more for 24 hours. We also run truck and sea vibration simulation and check for no internal movement. These are the same failure modes we see in courier, pallet, and container moves.
