Double-Door Rigid Wine Gift Box

A rigid two-bottle gift box with a double-door opening. The doors swing out from the center, so both bottles sit fully visible when your customer opens it. It suits wine brands, corporate gifting, and e-commerce sellers who want a premium unboxing moment. No fragile outer carton needed. The box is built from multi-layer rigid cardboard. That gives it more crush resistance than a standard folding carton. You can spec a soft-touch or textured finish. Closure, insert, and print are all decided during sampling.

  • Double-door structure. Symmetrical doors open outward to reveal both bottles. It turns a standard two-bottle set into a ceremonial reveal. That matters for gift and presentation orders.
  • Rigid multi-layer board. Walls are thicker than a folding carton. The box holds its shape in transit. A soft-touch or textured finish changes the hand feel without changing the structure.
  • Custom print and finishing. Your artwork can run across the doors and spine. Foil stamping, embossing, and UV coating are available. The box can match your label or brand system.
  • Optional magnetic closure. Magnets keep the doors aligned when closed. We position them to a tolerance of plus or minus 1 mm. Doors don't sit proud or catch.
  • Eco-conscious material choice. The box is made from recyclable materials. If your market asks for a premium look without plastic lamination, we can discuss uncoated or textured paper options.

Customisation

You can change dimensions to fit your two bottles, the facing paper, the print, and the insert type. Foil stamping, embossing, and UV coating are all possible. Ribbon pulls or metallic elements can be added. Send your bottle dimensions or a sample, your artwork, and the quantity. We'll make a blank sample first to check the structure. Then a printed sample for visual approval.

How it's built

The base is multi-layer rigid cardboard. That's greyboard wrapped with a facing paper, not a single sheet of thick board. The facing can be soft-touch, textured, or coated stock for print. Corners are turned and glued. The box holds a 90-degree angle when erected. Doors hinge on the outer edges and meet in the middle.

We don't use recycled greyboard or high-moisture paper. Board standard here is 1200 g minimum. For a two-bottle gift box, that's usually enough. But if your bottles are heavy or you're shipping a set with extra weight, we'll recommend stepping up to 1400 g. Doors and base are cut from the same board. The whole box responds the same way to humidity and temperature changes.

Bottle fit and checks

The insert holds each bottle at four points. No unsupported neck or shoulder. We cut the insert to your bottle's actual dimensions, not a generic 750 ml shape. A Burgundy bottle and a Bordeaux bottle have different shoulders. Insert tolerance is plus or minus 1 mm. Tight enough to stop rattling. Not so tight that your line staff fight to load the bottle. Before any order ships, we run three checks on a loaded sample. Shake it for 10 seconds, no movement. Tilt it 45 degrees, no slide. Invert it, no release. If it fails any of those, the insert gets recut.

Where it fits

This box works for two-bottle gift sets, holiday releases, corporate orders where unboxing is part of the product. Wineries selling a red and white pair or a vertical of the same wine use it. The double-door format reads as a presentation piece. It's not the right choice for high-volume DTC shipping where the box is just protective packaging. If your priority is lowest cost per unit and you're shipping dozens at a time, a corrugated shipper makes more sense. Use this when the box itself is part of what the customer is buying.

Buyer questions

Can the double doors stay open on their own for display?

The doors hinge on the outer edges and lie flat when opened. If you want them to hold at a specific angle, we can add a ribbon stop or change the hinge crease. Tell us how you plan to display the box and we'll adjust the structure.

What insert works best for two different bottle shapes?

We cut the insert to each bottle's actual profile. If one is a Burgundy and one is a Bordeaux, the cavities are different. The four-point hold rule still applies to each bottle. Send both bottle dimensions or samples.

Will the magnetic closure hold during shipping?

Magnets are positioned to plus or minus 1 mm and tested with the loaded box. We also run a 1.2 m six-face drop test and a vibration simulation. The doors should not pop open. If your courier is rough, we can add a paper band or sleeve.
